I think USB C or DisplayPort would probably be better than HDMI, but I would have to get adapters if it doesn't have at least one HDMI. I'm at a bit of a loss on this, but from what I've read so far I think I need a Thunderbolt dock instead of the cheap USB C dock I currently have.Ĭharge my MacBook (I either need a dock to charge or buy a 2nd charger as I'll be working from home mostly, but going into the office 1 day a week to see clients in person and don't want to get caught without power)Ībility to connect multiple USB A (or just one so I can use the hub I have)Ģ video out.
DOCKSTATION MAC 1080P
I do have a few older monitors around and could probably run dual 1080p monitors until I can afford something better. I was looking at either a 4k or 1440p 32" monitor, but realistically I think a docking station and webcam are probably more important and since everything will be connected to the dock that's probably the logical place to start.
DOCKSTATION MAC UPDATE
I will probably update my keyboard and mouse, but these are working fine for now (Ducky Premier and Logitech G9x) external mic (I may continue to use BT headset) I also really want to have more settings available including better positioning and/or zoom as I'm on camera all the time for my job

external webcam, again so I can just have one large monitor or dual monitor setup. I just need more screen real estate as my job requires I have multiple windows up at once and with the current setup I'm constantly losing windows. better external monitor or dual monitor setup. This just seems to be too much for my docking station as quite often my mouse, keyboard, or external monitor won't turn on when I plug my computer in. And now, with just a USB cable, unlock your phones possibilities on PC and Mac.

From that, I have another USB hub since I have my mechanical keyboard, mouse, USB DAC, external HDD and flash drives that are all old school USB A. Connect your Galaxy to your monitor or TV to bring it to life on the big screen. I'm using this USB C adapter: to give me USB A and I have my monitor plugged in here instead of my Mac to make docking and undocking my computer easier. I have a 23" 1080P HDMI monitor next to it. As of right now I'm using my MacBook on a riser so I can use both the screen and the webcam. My current setup is mostly older gear and I will upgrade some as funds allow, but I don't have the income just yet to upgrade everything all at once so this will be a process. I really don't need anything fancy, but I don't want something that will need to be replaced soonish and I want something reliable. I'm looking for some recommendations on a docking station for my MacBook Pro M1 Pro 14".
